NHF Hosts Blood Drive
Red Cross Blood Drive:
New Hudson Facades hosted its’ first ever Red Cross Blood Drive and surpassed all pre-event goals for participation. Employees were treated to a Super Hero themed event and asked “What kind of hero are you?” The employees showed the world what kind of heroes they are, alright, with 72 donors volunteering, including many donating for the first time!
The Red Cross collected 38 productive units of blood, which exceeded their forecast for the event by about 40%. An “A-plus” performance! (Pun intended – there were many blood types represented – A Positive, A Negative, O Positive, etc.). The Red Cross says that 38 units touches and saves 114 lives after all the units are broken down into the critical components.
Employees of other companies and members of the public were among the participants. Notably, M Cohen and Sons Co., from nearby Broomall, PA. Many commented on the fact that it felt especially significant that the blood drive took place when it did given the tremendous need in our local community as well as the recent monstrous storms in Florida and Texas which will put an additional pressure on the national inventories of blood.
New Hudson Facades management expressed its heart-felt thanks to the company’s employees: “Your generosity, selflessness, and real dedication to the needs of others are remarkable traits that show how great the employees of the company are,” Dan Sassi, Senior Manager of Human Resources said. “We are very proud to have you all on the NHF team.” Sassi also singled out the event organizers from among the employees: Executive Assistant Barbara Emery and Safety Director Dominic Ponzio who led a team of many others in staging the event and creating a wonderful buzz that attracted so many employees to the festive event.
